This is going to be a big start! The 2020 ACM Awards will kick off its 55th annual ceremony on Wednesday (September 16) with performances by nominees for Entertainer of the Year, Billboard Can specifically announce.
The nominees – Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Luke Coombs and Thomas Rhett – will perform one of their biggest hits.
Billboard Can also reveal winners of music programs of the year, songwriters of the year and videos of the year categories in particular. For the event of the year, Miranda Lambert’s “Stupid Around and Fell in Love” – featuring Maran Morris, Ashley McBride, Tennil Towns, Kelly Hammack and Elle King – brought home the honor.
Rhett won for Video of the Year with “Remember You Young”, while Hillary Lindsay nominated Songwriter of the Year. All three categories were declared off-camera ahead of the show.
The ACM Awards announced on Sunday (13 September) that Taylor Swift was making her big comeback to the show’s stage – this would be her first set for the event in seven years. The superstars will perform their songs from their new hit album “Betty”, social litrature, From the Grand Ole Opry House.
Other artists already announced include Gwen Stefani, Ken Brown, Tim McGraw, Kelsa Ballerini, Florida Georgia Line in Blake Shelton and more.
The 55th ACM Awards Sept 16 airs on CBS at 8 pm. (The event is produced by Dick Clark Productions, which shares with a parent company Billboard.)
