Texas restaurant under fire for bathroom doors featuring Caitlyn Jenner before and after transition


ALLEN, Texas —

A restaurant in Texas is taking warmth on social media for an August Facebook submit that showcased its new rest room doorways.

On August 15, Dodie’s Place, their weekly specials and a photograph of its rest room doorways had been posted to the restaurant’s official Facebook web page. The males’s room contains a picture of Bruce Jenner on the 1976 Olympics, whereas the ladies’s room options Caitlyn Jenner’s cowl of Vanity Fair after she got here out as transgender.

“Come meet our newest members of the Dodie’s crew, Caitlyn & Bruce,” the submit learn.

The submit has garnered each reward and pushback from supporters and critics on social media. Supporters say the doorways are lighthearted enjoyable, whereas others say the doorways are offensive to the transgender neighborhood.

“This was done in Los Angeles at a bar and received as mostly lighthearted… why is it so offensive in Allen,” commented Facebook person Ann Marie. Another Facebook person, Howard mentioned, “I’ll be avoiding Dodie’s.”

As the general public response to the submit grew louder, Dodie’s launched an announcement saying the doorways weren’t meant to make enjoyable or offend anybody.

“It was merely a lighthearted gesture to push back against the political correctness that seems to have a stranglehold on this country right now…Please know that we are here to discuss this and move forward as a community. Everyone is welcome here,” the restaurant mentioned.
