CALDWELL, Texas (KBTX) – A Texas A&M University football player was arrested on December 22 in Burleson County, KBTX has learned.
The Texas A&M Athletic Department confirmed that freshman offensive lineman Chris Morris was arrested and that head coach Jimbo Fisher is aware of the situation. The Burleson County Sheriff’s Office said Morris was arrested for arrest on charges of motor vehicle and reckless driving. He posted a $ 6,500 bond and was released, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
A copy of the law enforcement document sent to KBTX shows that Morris was in a dodge challenger and was stopped north of Giddings on CR 327 on Highway 21 on Tuesday morning.
Aggie Athletics said Morris is not in practice this week and will not travel to Miami with the team. The Aggies are playing in the Orange Bowl on January 2 in North Carolina.
There is no booking photo of Morris. The Burleson County Sheriff’s Office said the camera was down while he was being booked.
