Tesla is now more valuable than the 492 companies below in the S&P 500, which is not a member of the S&P 500 index.

On Thursday, Tesla rated its peak at $ 2,021.99, up from $ 368 billion of Walmart’s market capitalization, at more than $ 378 billion, according to data from YCharts.com.

The electric vehicle manufacturer increased more than 45% after announcing on August 11 that it would implement 5-for-1 stock at the end of August.

Year after year, Tesla has risen 378%. Investors have continued to bid for the company after registering profitability in its fourth quarter last month and is now eligible to join the S&P 500 index.

Tesla’s relative valuation of Walmart is surprising when considering the financial profiles of both companies. In its latest fiscal year, Walmart reported $ 500 billion more revenue than Tesla.

But in a world of almost zero interest rates, growth is low and investors are willing to pay for it. In this case, Tesla received a price-earnings of 1030x as compared to Thursday.
