A trainer, her former supervisor and a Michigan college district are named in a federal lawsuit alleging abuse that included taping shut the mouth of a 26-year-old scholar with cerebral palsy.
The lawsuit filed Wednesday by the scholar’s mom alleges a photograph was taken of the March 2016 incident at Ann Arbor High Point, a college for special-needs college students.
The picture was texted by the trainer to the scholar’s mom with the caption: “Help. She won’t be quiet!!!!”
Washtenaw Intermediate Schools says no complaints have been made by the household till almost a 12 months later. Spokeswoman Emma Jackson tells The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press that the trainer and her supervisor not work for the district.
The newspapers have been unable to achieve the trainer for remark.
