We are officially in a new era of glamor on the red carpet. A time when pajamas on the red carpet are as welcome as a matching mask. On Sunday, Taylor Swift (who picked Album of the Year for Folklore) attended the 63rd annual Grammy Awards with one of the most beautiful covers to ever exist.
The three-dimensional mask, designed by Laura Kim and Fernando García for Oscar de la Renta, is the epitome of a night mask, adorned with hand-embroidered flowers on beige organza. It was a custom “accessory” designed to match Swift’s romantic dress, which looked more like a collage of tear sheets from a pressed flower book than an embroidered fabric. If the floral garment sounds familiar, it’s because it was modeled by Candice Swanepoel in Oscar de la Renta’s Fall 2021 lookbook, which was released just a couple of weeks ago. The long-sleeved dress delivered a fresh take on the flowers and feels as fresh as a spring bouquet.
It turns out that the same dress is currently available to pre-order at Moda Operandi. And although the mask is not for sale at the moment, we have a feeling that after the Swift showcase, the world will want one too.
