Arian has not objected to calling players out in the media in the past, and he said Wednesday that he believes his relationship with Brady is healthy.
Arian said Wednesday, “Tom and I are fine. I don’t care what other people think. So it’s just him and I think.” “We left the stadium alright. We showed up today. There is nothing to talk about.”
On Tuesday, Pro Football Hall of Famer Brett Favre said with Bruce Murray on his radio show, “The SeriousXM Blitz,” that unless the coach and quarterback had an understanding, calling Brady publicly could stress the road is.
“Whether true or not, according to Bruce Arion’s comments, I think the person you want to call after the first game of the year is Tom Brady,” Favre said on Tuesday. “Now, maybe they were having a mutual tug to go to the game, going into the season, ‘Hey, I’m going to work hard on you. I want people to know that we’re technically Will treat you the same way. I am not, are you okay with it? ‘If they have that truss, great. If not, I think you are cutting down the wrong tree. ”
After the game, Arian was asked about Brady’s two interceptions. He responded, “One was a miscommunication between him and Mike [Evans]. He thought Mike was going in the middle – it was a different coverage – Mike read it right. He should have crossed his face, but Tom overthrows it. The second one was a screen pass that had an outlet. He threw the outlet and it was a pick-six. Poor judgment.”
Arion corrected himself on Monday, saying Evans was indeed at fault for the first interception. But Favre raised the issue nonetheless.
Favre, who spent 16 seasons with the Green Sea Packers before moving to the New York Jets in 2008 and the Minnesota Vikings from 2009 to 2010, said, “The descent can easily enter quickly.” Do anything they were not prepared for, other than that we did not defend very well, Tom gets hit once or twice, you get a little jealous, it happens. ”
Arian maintains a close relationship with his quarterback, telling ESPN that when he was first hired by the Bucs in 2019, the quarterback “became my son.” He also jokingly said that getting a little too close with Ben Rothlisberger was one of the reasons he got fired by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He goes to golf with his quarterback. He invites them to his lake house in Georgia. And he believes in having an open and honest relationship with them.
But he, like all his players, believes in holding them accountable, which is why he puts his name on the weekly accountability sheet. It is also that he cursed Brady to go out early in the camp.
He likes to throw the ball in a walk-through, and we don’t throw the ball in a walk-through, “he said of Brady during camp,” he crusades like everyone else. “Brady responded on Twitter,” I’m used to it! “With a laughing emoji. Brady is not a stranger to hard coaching. He was cursed by Bill Bellich in training camp practices. He is the former offensive coordinator Bill O. ‘Got into a shouting match with Brian.
What distinguishes Arian from other coaches is that he survives CoachSpec and becomes more outspoken with the media. If he feels that a player is weak or the players around him need to step up, he will say so. Nevertheless, he praised Brady. He follows Patron Bear Bryant’s philosophy of “coach them hard, embrace them later.”
Favre believes that Arion should follow Bellistic’s methods of keeping things in the house.
“Bruce Arians is the head coach, he’s going to do it the way he wants to – and I’m not saying it’s right or wrong – but what has happened in New England all these years is the work. Is done, ”said Favre. “And I’m not saying it’s the right formula, but it’s definitely one of the right formulas. I’m not seeing any good right now that comes out of calling your quarterback.
“And we’re not just talking about a quarterback – we’re talking about perhaps the biggest acquisition in football history. I don’t care if he’s 43, or 33 or 21. Collectively, say ‘We’ll play better. From quarterback to kicker, we’ll play better, we’ve made coaches better. That’s what we’re going to do to get where we want to go.’ And leave that at that. ”
As far as public writing Brady and Books are closed after a game, Arian said on Wednesday, “I was very happy when I handed the Lombardi Trophy to us in July. But, yes, it’s part of the business. You Go along. This is the one. ” Once a week, once a day. We win a few games, everyone will be back on the bandage, happy [laughs]. This is just one part of the game. ”
