On Thursday, Georgian club FC Saburtalo Tbilisi officially announced that midfielder Giorgi Kharaishvili was ready for IFK Gothenburg. The 21-year-old is on his way to Gothenburg to sign a contract with Blåvitt on Friday. The capital club FC Saburtalo Tbilisi finished four in Erovnuli Liga ifjol and thus missed a qualifying squad for the European League with a narrow margin. Kharaishvili became the team's best goal scorer with 13 goals in 26 matches and he also won the team captain. During the three seasons Saburtalo has now played in the highest league he has scored almost every other match and he is considered to be one of Georgia's really big future promises.
Kharaishvili has been taken to the national team on two occasions in early 2017 then Georgia first meets Uzbekistan and then Jordan at a training camp in Dubai. There he first jumped in with eight minutes left of the match against Uzbekistan, but he still pulled a yellow card. Then he had to play the last five minutes of the match against Jordan. Georgia played 2-2 against Uzbekistan and defeated Jordan by 1-0. Goal has been slower in the youth team and the goal in the 4-0 victory against San Marino in the qualification of the U21 European Championship in March 2016 is his only in competition in U21, U19 and U17 overall.
Who is then Giorgi Kharaishvili on the side of all statistics? He has been a Chelsea supporter since childhood and liked Frank Lampard especially during his upbringing. Other players he sees as role models are Messi, Robben and Maradona. Kharaishvili was rumored to be up to date for the "Chelsea nest" Vitesse Arnhem in 2016. Just Vitesse has picked up several of Saburtalo's talents before, such as national team Giorgi Chanturia and Valeri Kazaishvili. This summer he was also rumored to both Belgian big clubs Anderlecht and Club Bruges, Dutch PSV Eindhoven, and Danish Bröndby.
Giorgi Kharaishvilis big dream is otherwise to play in the Champions League. It has also been a long time in the media that 21-year-olds will move abroad, but he has not known himself completely until this summer. He has repeatedly stated that he was raised not to hold his nose high and instead to have both feet on the ground even though he was chosen among the league's best midfielder last year. He is often very self-critical and rarely satisfied with a match.
Besides hard training, Giorgi Kharaishvili likes to relax. Among other things, he likes to read, and then it is primarily a dancer, but the favorite author is Fjodor Dostoevsky. It is also in that his great interest in psychology is down and he is also religious Christian. If Giorgi Kharaishvili wanted to study something instead of becoming a football pro, he had chosen either a doctor or a psychologist.
It is not quite easy to get away from the small town of Marneuli at the border with Azerbaijan and Armenia to play football at the highest level in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi. Giorgi Kharaishvil's first football training is one of his primary childhood memories, but there is basically no opportunity to develop as a football player in Marneuli. That's why he moved to Tbilisi in young years to take part in Saburtalo, a club that has produced several great talents over the years. Now he has taken another step in his career as IFK Göteborg became the next club address. Could it be an unsaved Georgian diamond that Mats Gren got on?

The Week That Been – The Forgotten Heroes
Remembering as a hero when everything goes well is not difficult. Do some goals, kiss a clubmark, win a title. Sen resolves most of it. If you get a little worse on the pitch, you can always stand in the backside when you can not play and flip away, so you're an audience favorite. And then it does not matter that you are waiting for the contract at the same time to see what you can get abroad.
