The Ica merchant invites you alone at Christmas

Stefan Källvik, 50, already knew three years ago that he wanted to do something for those who feel alone in society. And now he sees it as an obvious tradition.

"Can I make a person happy, I am satisfied," he says.

For the third consecutive year, Ica trader Stefan Källvik, as Aftonbladet wrote about earlier, will arrange Christmas celebrations for those who are alone on Christmas Eve at their shop in Säffle.

– It gives so much back. We experienced warmth and joy the first year, already when we sat in the car on our way home from the shop, we said we had to do this again, even next year, he said, continuing:

"That feeling has come true year after year, now we drive the third year and it feels full right.

For them, tradition is a matter of course.

"Christmas is a feast that becomes so noticeable for the one who is alone or the one who is killed in society. When you see these people coming to the store and eating together with us and other guests, warmth, joy and love spreads. It will be hot throughout the room. You get handshakes by guests who thank for the initiative, it gives so terribly much back.

Everyone is welcome to Stefan's shop on Christmas Eve.

"Does not close the door to anyone"

On Christmas eve, a Christmas table with a dessert dessert is served. The celebration lasts between 11:30 – 13:30. In addition to food, guests can listen to a trubadur who plays music and a Christmas gift.

All possible are welcome. Lonely, those who may run out of money and those who test the Christmas table for the first time.

"In the first year, it was a refugee stream with many unaccompanied people, and then we were thinking about integration – to make them feel welcome to our society and try our tradition. I do not close the door to anyone.

For him, it feels more than right to contribute to society, he believes.

– Can I make a person happy, I'm happy, it's my goal to make a person happy during Christmas.
