YANGON, Myanmar — Myanmar chief Aung San Suu Kyi visited the conflict-torn space of northern Rakhine state for the primary time Thursday, as her authorities mentioned a repatriation plan for the tons of of hundreds of Rohingya Muslims who’ve fled violence there may be underway.
Suu Kyi arrived within the state capital Sittwe and headed to restive northern Rakhine the place many Rohingya villages had been positioned. During a 2015 election marketing campaign, she visited southern Rakhine, the place there hasn’t been a lot battle.
