Barron County (WQOW) – Jayme Closs has been safe at home for a week and support for Barron continues to come from across the country.
This week, the family collected the packages and letters sent to the teenager who escaped from his abductor on January 10.
"There is no doubt that she will feel incredibly loved and supported by this," said Jennifer Halvorson, a close friend of the Closs family.
Halvorson created a P.O. Box for Jayme last Saturday. She only expected to receive some cards, but instead, they received boxes and boxes of letters and packages from coast to coast.
They include letters, gift cards and even some with blue butterflies printed in 3D.
"I hope this little smile lets you know that there are many people on your side," Halvorson said. "We are very sorry for your loss and we are thinking of you and keeping you in our prayers. Stay strong, have a wonderful life. "
