In the summer of 2018, comic creator Mark Millar struck a deal with Netflix to turn several titles under its Millarworld brand into movies and TV shows for the streaming service, with the first one finally arriving this year.
Jupiter’s legacy is a new superhero series based on the comic of the same name by Millar and illustrator Frank Quitely. We have yet to get a first official look at the show starring Josh duhamel (Transformers), but Netflix has debuted Jupiter’s legacy teaser to announce the show’s arrival in May, and it comes with a warning that is ominous but hopeful.
Jupiter’s Legacy Teaser Trailer
Here is the official synopsis of Jupiter’s legacy, coming to Netflix in May 7, 2021:
After nearly a century of keeping humanity safe, the world’s first generation of superheroes must look to their children to carry on the legacy. But tensions rise as young superheroes, hungry to prove themselves, struggle to live up to their parents’ legendary public reputations and exacting personal standards.
Josh Duhamel is heard in off in this preview saying: “One day you will be stronger than anyone else in the world. Every evil you can imagine will rise up against humanity, not for justice, but for revenge. And you’re going to be the future. ”Clearly, he’s talking to one of the younger superheroes they’ll trust to protect the world, but we still haven’t got a glimpse of any of the characters in the series.
The footage in the teaser is not from the actual show, but rather a set of images and structures that fans of the Jupiter’s legacy comic you will probably recognize. A red cape fluttering for a moment gives off a Superman vibe, as does a location that looks like it could easily be the Hall of Justice.
Will be Jupiter’s legacy be able to shake a stick at superhero action from the Marvel Cinematic Universe or the DC Extended Universe? It’s quite a difficult task, but Netflix surely wants to establish a great superhero franchise of its own. Although they just released We can be heroes in January (and a sequel is already in the works), Jupiter’s legacy It will be something intended for a more mature audience rather than children, and that’s exactly what Netflix needs to compete against Disney + and HBO Max in the superhero department.
Jupiter’s legacy also stars Leslie Bibb (Iron Man), Ben daniels (The crown), Elena Kampouris (Sacred lies), Andrew Horton (How to talk to girls at parties), Mike wade (For the people), Y Matt lanter (Eternal)
