St. Jude Classic 2018 Selections, Field: Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson’s preparation for the US Open. UU

I really can not believe that the US Open. UU Take place next week. It seems that the Masters have just finished! But first, the FedEx St. Jude Clbadic will take place this week in Memphis and for the last time in this position. Starting in 2019, the event will probably take place in July or August (because Memphis in July or August is where everyone wants to be!), And it will be a WGC event, replacing the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.

That will undoubtedly bring elite fields to TPC Southwind, but this year is a final version where the tournament is an opportunity for some, but just a set-up for the best in the world before one of the most important events of the year next week.

Let's take a look at this week's contest.

Field Force : B-

It's not a big field, but it has some good characters (Mickelson, DJ, Kiradech Aphibarnrat), as well as some young and funny players (Joaquin Niemann, Braden Thornberry).

Three stories to see

1. (19459010) I wonder what Phil Mickelson will think if he reaches the last hole with a two-stroke lead given the fact that the six-time US Open finalist is still looking for the Grand Slam next week at Shinnebad. If he makes a triple in Memphis, he will lose one against J.T. Poston, just remember this statistic.

It's time for you to remember annually that no player has won on the PGA Tour the week prior to winning the US Open.

2. Driving D.J.: Johnson said this in his post-Memorial interview with Amanda Balionis of CBS Sports, but he did not drive the ball very well in Muirfield Village. It's something to watch this week because, if the driver is locked in Shinnebad, it's extremely easy to see him win the US Open No. 2 next week on a clbadic track like the one he won in 2016 (Oakmont).

Johnson is No. 1 on the PGA Tour in strokes this year (1,003 per round), but was out of the top 20 last week at the Memorial.

3. Joaquin in Memphis: Mostly I just wanted to use a headline that literally every golf media will use this week. Niemann now has three (!) 10 best on the PGA Tour so far this year and has won a special temporary membership. Now you need around 100 FedEx Cup points to close a place within the top 125 and get your card for 2018-19 (365 points was the magic number last year).

19 years Joaquin Niemann (T6) –
Thanks to a T6 finish, he currently holds 275 FedExCup points for non-members, earning special temporary PGA TOUR membership.

Previous winners

Daniel Berger is for the St. Jude Clbadic what Tiger Woods is for Bridgestone Invitational. OK, maybe not that far, but the consecutive victories here are still impressive.
