Kingdom Hearts Sora has long been a fan-favorite candidate for Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC Fighter. For those who can’t wait to see if he joins, a new mod may allow players to choose a Disney-square hero.
With The Kingdom Hearts franchise depicting Final Fantasy and the Disney world, Sora is one of the most popular characters in all of gaming. As such, he has scored incredibly high in the Smash Ultimate Fighter ballots, with fans longing to see him out with other gaming giants like Mario, Link, Sonic, Solid Snake and more.
Although he has not yet appeared in Smash – and it is unlikely that he ever has – the talented modder ‘Mastaclo’ has yet produced one of the best fighter mods that ultimately brings character to Smash.
Everything about Sora matches his Kingdom Hearts look perfectly, with kibble swords, shorts, hair and shoes. So if you are a stickler for visual perfection, then you are in luck.
The mod uses Shulak’s tricks when it comes to gameplay, and was actually teased in a leak originally from December 2020. As previously reported by Dextro, scenes from the mod were posted on a message board claiming Sora would come to Smash.
Mustakalo told Dextro that a friend, whom he had sent for the initial construction of the mod, posted those photos.
As soon as you can download the mod, Mastaclo is offering early access to its Patron supporters, but it will be available to everyone starting February 19.
Sadly, for those who actually expect Sora to come to Smash, you should not fulfill your expectations. Former senior editor of Game Informer Imran Kahan has made the record by saying that Disney Japan prevented Nintendo from adding characters to Smash, which is why we got Sephirth instead.
In any case, at least now fans can finally find a way to use Sora in Smash – just think of him as a shock echo fighter. Who knows, though; With three more DLC packs still to come in Fighters Pass Volume 2, it is always possible that Sora finally makes his way into a more official capacity.
