It's snowing in southeast Louisiana! There are no reports of frozen things in New Orleans, but North Shore is receiving bursts with some buildup. This is what we know about the weather on Friday morning (December 8).

6:15 a.m.

It's snowing south of Folsom. NOLA.com | Times-Picayune reporter Bob Warren is driving down Highway 25. He said the snow is falling quite well. There is no accumulation on the road, but it is accumulating in mailboxes, cars and on the side of the road.

6:05 a.m.

Parts of southeastern Louisiana could get up to 2 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service. Be very careful when driving on elevated surfaces, such as bridges and overpbades. Here is the complete weather statement:

Heavy snowfalls occur in many places this morning across the north coast. Roads can become slippery in several locations during the heaviest snow gusts this morning, especially those that are high. Visibilities are also reduced to half a mile or less within the most intense snowfall. Please use extreme caution when transiting these areas today. A winter weather advisory remains until noon today with accumulations of 1 to 2 inches.

6 a. M.

Ronnie Simpson, spokesman for St. Tammany Parish, said he receives reports of snow from Covington north of Folsom.

South of the lake, it's still a cold rain. Forecasters do not expect snow in New Orleans.

Traffic flows well on the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway, officials tell NOLA.com | Times-Picayune reporter, Bob Warren. However, motorcycles are not allowed due to severe weather.

Restrictions remain in effect at the Causeway Bridge of Lake Pontchartrain in both directions due to severe weather. No motorcycles are allowed on the bridge.
