The women of "Saturday Night Live" returned the blow to the widespread news of accusations of badual harbadment with a parody of "Welcome to Hell" to remind us that none of these accusations, however shocking they are, is actually something new.
"Hey, guys, we know that the last few months have been crazy," Cecily Strong says of reports of rape, harbadment and other misconduct against high-profile men since the Harvey Weinstein scandal broke out.
"All these big, great and powerful guys are becoming what they are, habitual predators," adds Aidy Bryant. "And it's like, Dang, is this the world now?"
That's when Strong gives the news to anyone who still lives under a rock: "This has been the damn world."
Despite Katy Perry's whimsical appearance, with floating cherries, clouds and giant lollipops, the video did not sweeten the growing list of problems women face and have faced for centuries.
The flashbacks included scenes of female suffrage, the burning of witches and a workplace dominated by men reminiscent of the television show "Mad Men."
Leslie Jones also intervened to remind everyone that "it's like a million times worse for a woman of color."
"Now & # 39; House of Cards & # 39; is ruined, and that really sucks … Well, here is a list of things that are ruined for us," says actress Saoirse Ronan before reviewing a list that includes parking, walking, Uber, pigtails, bathrobes, night, drink, hotels and vans.
Viewers quickly took media social networks to applaud women's work, and several call it the anthem we need at this time.
