Singer dies on stage of fireworks explosion

A Spanish singer lost her life on Sunday when a firework that exploded hit her on stage and left the audience in stunned silence, reports the BBC. Joana Sainz García was performing near Madrid with a group of 15 members of musicians, singers and dancers when the cartridge left her unconscious at approximately 2 am local time. A nurse and a doctor who were apparently in the audience attended the singer and 30-year-old dancer, who was later pronounced dead in a hospital. "She always showed exemplary behavior, both personal and artistic, in addition to great human quality," said the program's promoter on Facebook.

"It will be very difficult for all of us to overcome his absence," the promoter added. "We will always remember you, Joana. R.I.P." The Super Hollywood Orchestra show was part of a four-day festival in the province of Ávila, where the president of the provincial council, Carlos García González, called on local authorities to investigate his death. Newsweek reports. The artist's family must "find some comfort in the face of such an irreparable loss," he said. His death is captured in a YouTube video that is not easy to watch.
