TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Like other counties around, the Shawnee County Health Department (SCHD) has launched an online survey for those wishing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Right now, it is specifically for those who have been identified as the stage of the Kansas vaccination plan. Step 2. Individuals or organizations that fit the listed criteria, and are interested in receiving a COVID-19 vaccine as part of Phase 2, are encouraged to complete the following survey / interest form: http: Additional details and scheduling of the //bit.ly/ShawneeCoVaccineSurvey vaccination deadline will be reported as more details about Phase 2 vaccine administration have been released and additional vaccine doses become available.
“We encourage all community members to receive the COVID-19 vaccine when it becomes available to them,” said Craig Barnes, Division Manager Shawnee County Health Department. We are working diligently to complete vaccinations of healthcare workers and others as part of Phase 1 so that we can move quickly to Phase 2 to receive that guidance. Although the first dose of the vaccine is here, we must be vigilant and continue wearing our masks, washing our hands and watching our distance. “
SCHD vaccine administration to Phase I individuals is still ongoing, with 1,788 vaccine doses given as part of its collaboration with GraceMed. According to current KDHE guidance we will complete the first phase before going into additional stages. The modern COVID-19 vaccine requires two doses, which are set aside for 28 days. Individuals should receive both doses to consider complete immunization. Current and future scheduling is based on vaccine availability and can be modified based on vaccine supply.
