Sources close to Sharon tell TMZ … that the former ‘Talk’ co-host was engaged when the show returned to air on Monday after a 3 week hiatus. As you know … the show went dark after Sharon and Sheryl argued heatedly Piers Morgan.

You will remember that things got overheated during the March 10 Episode when Sharon defended her good friend Piers … this after Piers scored Meghan markle a liar about her claims of racism from the royal family.
What’s more … our sources say that Sharon and Sheryl still haven’t spoken privately since the air blast. It’s unclear if Sharon will contact Sheryl soon, but one thing’s for sure … our sources say that Sharon is putting “The Talk” on her rearview mirror.

On Sheryl’s side … she opened Monday’s show from backstage and said the panel would openly discuss what happened on March 10 and how it will move forward. When asked if she could still be friends with Sharon … Sheryl said, “People have asked me, ‘Well, if you see Sharon, what would you do?’ If you greet me warmly and sincerely, I would return the same, because we have been on this program for 10 years. “
