Shailene Woodley confirmed Monday that she is engaged to Aaron Rodgers during an appearance on “The Tonight Show.”
“It’s not new news for us, so it’s funny that everyone right now is going crazy about it,” said Woodley, 29. “We’re like, ‘Yeah, we’ve been engaged for a while.’
The “Big Little Liars” star raved about her 37-year-old fiancé, describing him as a “wonderful and incredible human being” and poked fun at his career as a quarterback for the Green Bay Packers.
“I never thought I’d be engaged to someone who made a living throwing balls,” she joked. “I never thought as a child, ‘Yes, when I grow up I will marry someone who throws balls, yes!’
“But he really is so good at it,” she added. “I’m very impressed.”
Woodley added that she and Rodgers met during the pandemic and admitted that she had never been to or seen a soccer game.
“I don’t know him as the soccer kid,” he said. “I know him as the nerd who wants to introduce ‘Jeopardy!’ That’s the guy I know. “
Rumors of an affair between the “Divergent” star and the NFL player didn’t swirl until early February, and just days later, Rodgers revealed he was engaged.
Rodgers last dated Danica Patrick, while Woodley was previously linked to rugby player Ben Volavola.
