Nick Jonas did “double duty” as host and musical guest on “Saturday Night Live” this week.
The 28-year-old pop star took on his first gig as a host expressing his love for his home state of New Jersey and jokingly saying that he won’t be leaving the Jonas Brothers during his opening monologue.
“It’s been a year since I last performed live, so I thought I could do it by doing double duty as host and musical guest,” Jonas joked. “I grew up not far from here in New Jersey. Thanks for courting me and not cursing. But I love Jersey. It’s where my brothers and I grew up.”

Jonas went on to point out that his brother and bandmate Kevin, 33, was in the audience to support his debut.
Kevin didn’t miss a beat of the comedy when the camera looked at him.
“Hi Nick,” Kevin called from his seat. “Honestly, I’m very excited to be here to support you. And also, I have to ask you, are we okay? Because I see you’re doing a lot of solo stuff. Are we still a band?”
To that, Jonas simply replied, “Of course.”
