Sarah Silverman apologizes to Paris Hilton after teasing her mercilessly in 2007

Earlier this week, Nicky Hilton demanded that comedian Sarah Silverman apologize to her sister Paris for verbally gutting her at the 2007 MTV Awards as Paris sat in the audience trying not to cry.

Silverman, 50, responded by issuing a long piss on the socialite on the latest episode of The Sarah Silverman Podcast, where she admitted that she would ‘never do those jokes today’.

Paris revealed on her own on the This Is Paris podcast on Monday that she is still angry at the comedian who called her jokes “gross, cruel and bad.”

Is it too late now to ask for forgiveness? Sarah Silverman issued a long and heartfelt public apology to Paris Hilton on the latest episode of The Sarah Silverman Podcast for cruelly taunting her to the face at the 2007 MTV Awards.

‘You know, as she herself said on the podcast, this would never happen today and she’s right, I wouldn’t. I would never do those jokes today, ”Silverman began.

“ I emerged at a time when talk show hosts and comedians hired to poke fun at pop culture were roasting the biggest celebrities and pop culture icons at the time and no one was bigger than Paris Hilton. ” he continued by way of explanation.

“So here we are in an awake world and I am totally in it, this is how we grow, this is how we change,” Silverman said before releasing a full apology to Paris.

“ I am very sad to reflect on the past and my part in perpetuating really ugly things, ” he said. “And yes, we can continue to litigate the past, but I think maybe that should be accompanied by taking into account any growth that has come with those years that pass.

As a reminder, Paris was booked into prison hours after the 2007 awards ceremony for violating her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case and was taunted by Sarah during the show as she sat in the crowd.

Silverman recalled: “Although I was excited by the success of my monologue, I remember seeing her in the audience, I really do, and I remember seeing that expression on her face and my heart sank. There was a person down there. A couple of days later I wrote him a letter apologizing, I felt really bad and never got a reply, I certainly wouldn’t expect it anyway. ‘

As it turned out, Hilton never received the apology letter and harbored great resentment at the cruel and callous jokes of the comics for more than a decade.

“I regretted the jokes not years later, but immediately,” he admitted. “Here I am, 14 years later, telling you, Paris, that I am very sorry. I was then and I am, much more completely and with much more understanding, I think, now. ‘

I can’t imagine what you were going through at the time. My understanding of humanity through the lens of my work as a comedian had yet to merge and I am sorry to have hurt you. Comedy is not always green. We cannot change the past, so the fundamental thing is that we change with the times. ‘

She added: ‘I felt it the second I saw your face that night. It feels terrible to know that you have hurt someone and it is important to correct it. I hope this does that. ‘

During her podcast this week, Hilton revealed that at the time she had been nervous about going to the event, so when she was the butt of Silverman’s jokes, it was intolerable.

`` Even though I was excited about the success of my monologue, I remember seeing her in the audience, I really do, and I remember seeing that expression on her face and my heart sank. There was a person down there. A couple of days later I wrote him a letter apologizing, I felt really bad and never got a reply, I certainly wouldn't expect it anyway. '

In detailing her version of events, Paris said: ‘I was so shocked and shocked because I had actually met her a few years before at an event and she was sweet.

‘Obviously I was very nervous and I knew I was about to go to jail a few hours later, I put on a brave face and she literally beat me, so evil, so cruel.

“ He was sitting there, wanting to die, he held back tears, he had tears in his eyes … he literally wanted to run out of the whole room. All the public laughed and she did not stop.

“ It was very painful, especially with what was going on in my life, it was really difficult. ”

Sarah had said. ‘I heard that to make her feel more comfortable in jail, the guards are going to paint the bars to look like penises, I’m just afraid she’ll break her teeth on those things.

Paris served three days of his 45-day prison sentence.

Nicky said, ‘Mama always told us you don’t know someone until you’ve walked a mile in her her and here was Sarah … saying the most disgusting, vile, and horrible things.’

“It’s abuse,” Paris added about what Sarah did.

Nicky said that because Sarah apologized to Britney after she similarly hit her, she now needs to apologize to Paris.

“ The sexual and disgusting comments were so horrible, very, very, very disappointing, that it should never have happened to a young woman sitting in the audience or to anyone, you must not allow a person to be humiliated. ”

Say sorry! His sister Nicky, (pictured September_, has demanded an apology from the comedian
