Samsung to unveil ‘future of display’ during First Look 2021 event

Samsung usually starts the new year with the announcement of its new TV lineup, but this year will be slightly different. The company has established a program titled ‘The First Look 2021’, where it is preparing to unveil new products and new display technologies with its products.Vision for the future of performance.

Just before CES 2021, which will begin on January 11 and end on January 14, Samsung will likely showcase its 2021 Smart TV up. The event is scheduled to take place on January 6, 2021 at 11 am EST. We expect the company to unveil new MicroLED TVs, mini-LED TVs and 4K and 8K QLED TVs. Going by the silhouettes that appear in the invitation to the event, Samsung is likely to unveil new laptops and tablets that use new display technologies. The South Korean tech giant may also announce follow-ups on its The Frame, The Serif and The Sero Lifestyle TV.

Samsung recently used its already prepared 110-inch MicroLED TV for homes. It has 4K resolution, picture quality like OLED, built-in 5.1-channel speakers, zero bezels all around, and operating system. The company claimed that its new TV offers very high brightness, high contrast ratios and immersive audio for a great audio-visual experience.

The South Korean tech giant wants to avoid OLED technology for its future TVs and may jump straight to microLED technology. MicroLED displays can theoretically offer OLEDs such as viewing angles, contrast, and response times, while being clear about common OLED problems including screen burn and low brightness. However, this is a new technology, and the biggest challenge remains in offering higher screen resolutions and lowering the price.
