Samsung is set to unload a load of new consumer technology at the Galaxy Unpacked 2020 event on August 5. This is Samsung’s first foldable device out of the five devices to be launched at this event. Instead of just “Galaxy Fold 2”, called the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, there is a lot of excitement around the device as it is a step of refinement for the series. Samsung now has a few foldable opportunities, first with the Galaxy fold, then the “fixed” version, then the Galaxy Z Flip and most recently the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. Now, a leaked photo gives us an early look at the massive front of the Galaxy Z fold 2.
This leaked photo of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 shows the phone’s internal display, which actually twists along its central axis.
Although it’s not like you can take a cursory look at this photo, other than the new name on the boot splashscreen, if you look too close, you might notice the hole-punch display. Here is an edited photo that better illustrates the hole-hole:
As you can see now, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 will feature a single hole-punch front camera in the internal display, which will focus on the right half of the screen. There is now no extension to punch holes in the protective lip around the device. This is a major change from the front cameras on the first generation device, which was more unique than before, as it was corrected:
Previous reports suggested the possibility of an under-display camera on the Galaxy Z Fold 2, but it no longer appears to be. In addition, the new device is expected to come with 7.7, interior display, a larger external display, plenty of RAM and storage, the latest processor, 5G capacity and it will continue to roll out the S Pen. We should learn more in the coming days.
