OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – It was an ugly victory against an opponent with small hands, but the Oklahoma City Thunder are not in a position to worry about such details.

Russell Westbrook posted his seventh triple-Double of the season to help the Thunder beat the San Antonio Spurs 90-87 on Sunday night.

Westbrook had 22 points, 10 rebounds and 10 badists for the Thunder, who won their second straight win after losing five of their previous six.

"A victory is always excellent in this league," Westbrook said. "Nothing is taken for granted."

Steven Adams added 19 points and 10 rebounds for Oklahoma City, which he won even though No. 2 scorer Paul George had only eight points in 2 of 17 shots. But the Thunder kept the Spurs with 40.8 percent shooting.

"We just missed some shots," Westbrook said. "We surpbad some of the ones we usually do, as long as we defend, we can not score, they can not either."

Dejounte Murray had 17 points and Derrick White added 16 for San Antonio. With the possibility of a draw at the end, Brandon Paul missed a triple and the Thunder bounced.

Spurs starters LaMarcus Aldridge and Tony Parker were left out. San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich said Aldridge rested with a minor knee problem and Parker was "out of control." The Spurs still expect striker Kawhi Leonard's right quadriceps to heal.

The news of injuries worsened on Sunday. Kyle Anderson of San Antonio twisted his left knee with a minute remaining in the third quarter and did not return.

Popovich liked the way his team competed.

"I'm really proud of them," he said. "I thought they did a great job tonight, the defense in the second half was very good, they had a lot of people participating and a lot of guys got many minutes, they did it very, very well."

Jerami Grant's 3-pointer since time expired in the first half gave the Thunder a 54-43 lead. Adams had 17 points on 7 of 10 shots and Oklahoma City led despite the fact that George was scoreless and Carmelo Anthony managed only three points.

San Antonio recovered in the third quarter and cut the Oklahoma City lead to 76-73 at the end of the period.

Westbrook secured his triple double in an badist to George by a triple that gave the Thunder an 87-79 lead. George had made only one of 14 shots before connecting with 4:13 remaining.

"I thought we did the game well defensively," he said. "It was a low scoring night in the NBA today, we're happy with that, we lost a lot of opportunities in the rim, we lost a lot of 3. But sometimes you have to win games like this"
