For the first time in a long time, everything has changed, with new technology much more available throughout the computing landscape.
Whether you’re building a monster rig to deal with Cyberpunk 2077, just getting a laptop to get some work done, or you’re a Mac Loyalist who wants to see what Macs can do on ARM, There are new shiny things out there to get your work done. hands on.
PC is definitely the place to play games right now
The Xbox Series X finally got its final release date and price – yet another new tech toy – but it has been overshadowed in some circles by the absolutely unbroken launch of the Nvidia Ampere GeForce card. In the lead-up to the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090, we’re talking about the performance of the raw graphics card, which would be completely dwarf capable of either console – for a much higher price.
However, Nvidia is also not alone. AMD has just announced a keynote for their RDNA 2 graphics card for October 28, and while we don’t know what AMD has yet, we can almost guarantee that Team Red’s at least A card will make Nvidia sweat at least a little.
Beyond just graphics, Intel launched its 10th generation Comet Lake desktop chips in May 2020. While it feels like a decade ago at this point, it is only a few months. Couples who talk about AMD’s Zen3 desktop lineup on October 8, and it seems that the CPU landscape is going to be as prosperous and competitive as the CPU market.
After the major new launches of all the major players, there has never been a better time to start planning to build your PC – although we urge you to decide on what you plan to buy. Do a full review.
Our biggest concern about PC consoles as well is that once the new console comes out, thanks to the Nvidia RTX IO, those with RTX graphics cards should access the same type of storage performance that the PS5 and Xbox Series X will be on offer. But, again, it would be a lot more expensive than just buying a $ 499 box.
We at AMD are also willing to invest money for a similar solution for their Big Navy graphics card – Team Red helped architect the next generation of consoles, after all, so it’s not too much of a leap to assume That similar IO technology would be present in Radeon cards.
In short, PC gaming is Certainly Not being left behind.
Don’t forget about the laptop
While laptop processors are not quite as exciting as their desktop siblings, this does not mean that they are not important. Especially now that we are all working from home and we need as much support as we can put everything together, with strong mobile performance, with a feature set that makes our lives easier and unbelievable. As important.
And it looks like Intel is going to provide with Tiger Lake. While the 11th generation U-series processors are still going to be limited to 4 cores and 8 threads, while the AMD Ryzen 4000 U-Series chips provide twice as much, we are seeing a huge increase in clock speed. The 11th generation Intel Core i7-1185G7 accelerates to 4.8GHz on one core and 4.3GHz in all cores. Compared to Core i7-1065G7 which can achieve up to 3.9GHz on only one core? This is a massive change.
This is not to mention Tiger Lake’s other big advantage: Intel Xe Graphics. Intel is claiming that these integrated GPUs are going to be more than double what Gen11 Iris graphics on Ice Lake were capable of, even beating out dedicated GPUs. Now, this is definitely something you should take with a grain of salt, because we haven’t had a chance to test it ourselves. However if this is true, and Intel can deliver a compelling integrated GPU in a thin and light chassis, on the go, creative professionals and people who want to do some gaming over their lunch break will come forward.
Now it took a while for the laptops powered by Ryzen 4000 laptops to actually make it to store shelves, and we can see that repeat with Intel Tiger Lake chips – though that’s just baseless speculation from our side.
Laptops are going to be much better, though, thanks in large part to the new Intel Evo program (which is basically a rebrand of Project Athena). Intel-certified laptops will have longer battery life, consistent performance on batteries, and wake up quickly when you open them. The raw performance is cool and all, but it’s the kind of stuff that really enhances the user experience in a laptop, and we can’t wait to see what the upcoming crowd of laptops can do.
No matter what type of computing experience you are looking for, there has never been a more exciting time to shop for your next laptop or desktop. And now we’re just sitting and trying to imagine what can come The following year.
