Ray Allen is No. 1 in league history with 2,973 3-pointers. If all goes according to plan, Curry will press Allen next season.
The two-time NBA MVP is already No. 1 in the playoff 3 with 470 (LeBron James is second with 414).
Curry got off to a slow start on Sunday in Chicago, as he had just 14 points on 2-for-10 shooting from beyond the arc with more than two minutes left in the third quarter. But he caught fire, finishing 5-for-15 from the distance with 36 points.

And most importantly, Golden State gave up their first win of the season with 1.7 seconds on Damian Lee’s game-winning 3-pointer.
Curry and the Warriors will return to action on Tuesday night against the Detroit Pistons.
