After organizing their first reception in Delhi, the high-profile couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma organized their second reception in which stars from the world of sport and the film world in Mumbai participated on Tuesday night.
Sharma wore a creation designer Sabyasachi, a lehenga set embroidered and embellished with dull gold combined with a matching dupatta.
He completed the heavy tacked dress, a diamond necklace and the traditional set of Punjabi red bracelets. Kohli was dressed in a navy blue velvet bandhgala that he combined with a pair of white pants and brown shoes. Sabyasachi also designed the couple's wedding dresses.
At the reception at the Astor Ballroom in St Regis, the sports world was represented by the Indian head coach Sandeep Patil, Saina Nehwal, Ravindra Jadeja, M.S. Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Virender Sehwag, Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Hardik Pandya, Zaheer Khan, Jaydev Unadkat, Cheteshwar Pujara, Umesh Yadav and many more, while Bollywood bigwigs such as Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan, Rekha, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Kangana Ranaut, Prasoon Joshi, Anurag Kashyap, Lara Dutta, Ramesh Taurani, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sidharth Roy Kapur, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Boman Irani, Rajkumar Hirani, rookie Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan, Dino Morea, Music Master AR Rahman was present.
From their friendly invitations to the environment with sprouts to the anthology of Rumi's poems as gifts of return, the couple seems to have invested great thought in all functions. They made sure that all the events reflected the spirit of their company and their personalities.
After wrapping up the wedding festivities, the couple, nicknamed Virushka by fans and media, will fly to South Africa, where Kohli will remain during an upcoming cricket series.
Sharma plans to play base in Mumbai after the New Year celebrations, where he will resume his pending commitments of work – a film with Aanand L. Rai, YRF Sui Dhaaga and the promotions of Pari.
