It’s been a busy week for PS5 resupply events. GameStop, Sony Direct, and Best Buy did PS5 restocking in recent days. However, despite the increase in PS5 restocking, getting a PS5 is still almost impossible.
So we’re here to help you stay on top of all the latest PS5 restock events, including an Amazon PS5 restock rumor, which could supposedly happen any day. Be sure to bookmark this page and check back frequently for the latest updates on all things PS5 as we track refills in real time.
Where to buy PS5: check PS5 restocking now
As of March 27 at 6:20 AM ET, no PS5 restocking is available at any major retailer. However, rumors indicate that there could be a significant replenishment of Amazon in the near future. Also, a regular PS5 resupply whistleblower claims millions more consoles are coming this spring, so things could improve on the PS5 resupply front. In the meantime, you can use the links below to check where to buy the PS5.
PS5: $ 499 at Amazon
Check Stock: The PS5 flagship console includes a 4K UDH Blu-ray disc drive. As a result, the design is slightly more complete than the fully digital model. It retails for $ 499 and includes a PS5 DualSense controller.
PS5 Digital Edition: $ 399 at Amazon
Check Stock: The PS5 digital console lacks a 4K UDH Blu-ray disc drive. As a result, it is slightly thinner than its counterpart. It also retails for $ 399 ($ 100 less) and includes a PS5 DualSense controller.

Amazon PS5 Restock Date
Amazon is rumored to have nearly 50,000 PS5 consoles ready for sale at any given time. The original Amazon PS5 restock date was supposed to be last week, but Amazon reportedly canceled the event at the last minute. No one knows when Amazon will release its PS5 consoles, but it’s been quite a while since its last PS5 restock.
One thing to note: Amazon restocks tend to run out in seconds. We hope your next resupply event will give players plenty of time to snag a console. (You can always follow this trick from Amazon to increase your chances of getting a console.)
Best Buy PS5 restock date
Best Buy has been removing inventory from PS5 every Friday for the last month. Best Buy doesn’t give any notice, the PS5 just magically appears in stock. However, Best Buy always releases consoles in the afternoon and they always offer the consoles at the list price: $ 499 for the PS5 and $ 399 for the PS5 Digital. We predict the next Best Buy PS5 restock date will be Friday, March 26, based on your regular PS5 delivery schedule.
Target PS5 Resupply Date
Target PS5 restock dates have been difficult to pin down. That’s because the retailer tends to reduce inventory in certain regions. For example, someone in Chicago might see the PS5 inventory at their local store, while a New Yorker might not see any inventory. Additionally, Target tends to restock early in the morning that occurs before 8 a.m. ET. With that said, its last refill was this morning and it sold out in minutes.
PS5 Restocks: Follow on Twitter
One of the best ways to find out when PS5 restocking hits online retailers is by following the Sony Twitter account. We also recommend following Twitter accounts like @ PS5StockAlerts, @GYXdeals, @mattswider, @ PS5Drop and @ Wario64, which are often the first to have the latest availability updates.
Please note that PS5 restock availability may also be regional and limited to select stores. Either way, be sure to bookmark this page and check the retail listings regularly.

How to buy PS5: essential tips
Multiple sources have reported an Amazon hack that improves your chances of getting a PS5. We tried this trick four times and each time we managed to get a next-gen console in our cart. (We tested it with an Xbox Series X, but there’s no reason why it shouldn’t work with a PS5.) Other PS5 retail tips to follow include:
Get prepared– Make sure you have all the correct payment card details and two-factor authentication available and on hand when you find a PS5 ready to buy. Units can go so fast that if you’re playing to find your credit card, you could miss out on securing a PS5 order.
Select a retailer: As you can see from our list above, there are a lot of retailers to choose from, which can actually complicate the whole PS5 buying process a bit. We suggest that you select a couple of major retailers like Walmart and Amazon, and keep an eye on their PS5 landing pages.
Sign up for stock alerts: Many retailers offer to notify you when they have PS5 refills. We suggest that you sign up for those services for the retailers that offer them.
Find the right product page: It may seem obvious, but make sure you are on the actual purchase page for the PS5 or PS5 Digital Edition. If you’re on a landing page, you might miss the moment when new actions arrive.
Login to retailers: Make sure to log into any retailer you already have an account with. This will make things a lot faster when buying a PS5 if you see one on sale. And speed is essential today.
Keep refreshing yourself and don’t give up: It can be a bit demoralizing trying to find PS5 restocking when everything seems sold out. But periodically update the product pages to see what appears; you may be lucky. And also check back here for PS5 stock updates.
You can also get used to checking out Slickdeals, the online collection of deals that range from home appliances to game consoles like the PS5. The website has some specific forum threads for the entire PS5 that users keep updating. If you’re following the thread, please skip to the last page and keep updating to stay up-to-date with the latest news.
It’s also a good idea to check out some of the subscription-based wholesale retailers like Sam’s Club, BJ’s Wholesale Club, and Costco. You need a paid membership to shop at these retailers, but that means reduced competition to snag a unit there. You may have to pay more for a package, but these locations are worth checking out either way. There are currently no online listings for these retailers to check, but it may be worth heading to each physical store to try your luck right now.
It has been quite a difficult process during this generation of consoles to block any kind of next-gen purchase. But as we get closer to the holidays, chances are there will be additional PS5s available for purchase at some point as Sony catches up with those looking to buy PS5s.

Where to buy PS5: Avoid PS5 resellers
Unfortunately, one of the main reasons for the PS5 console shortage is due to resellers. These opportunistic folks have been using bots to scan retailers for PS5 stock when available and buy as many consoles as they can in one go.
Once they have the highly desired console, they will sell it at exorbitant prices, often for thousands of dollars. Business Insider reported that a reseller managed to get hold of 200 PS5 consoles and managed to sell them for more than $ 40,000.
While this is not illegal, it is not exactly the most morally sound thing to do. But at least it’s not as bad as some folks who have been pretending to sell PS5 consoles on eBay simply by posting photos of the console and scamming people into bidding on them when there wasn’t a PS5 on sale.
It may seem absurd to buy a PS5 for over $ 1,000, especially since its launch game lineup isn’t particularly deep. But with the coronavirus pandemic seeing more people stay home, some PlayStation fans are clearly desperate to get their hands on a new console to keep them entertained.
We recommend that you avoid buying from these resellers, fake or otherwise. At $ 499, the PS5 is still a fairly expensive console and it doesn’t currently have a huge library of games. So if you can wait until the end of this year, you probably have a lot more PS5 games to choose from and Sony should have more consoles available.
