PS4 firmware update will add requested features and remove communities

The new firmware update for the PS4 gives users what they have been yearning for for a while and removes an underused feature to improve the user interface.

A new firmware update for PS4 offers some exchanges by adding some requested features and removing Communities. Sony’s next-gen console is still relevant, and many developers continue to support games on the system and new titles are released for it. The current generation of consoles is still trying to get a step ahead, and its predecessor maintains its presence as the preferred choice for many gamers as Sony and Microsoft try to increase the offering for retailers and consumers.

As such, the cross-platform game has become even more coveted among fans, with titles like Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War supporting function. Additionally, PS5 users can still play many of their favorite PS4 exclusives on the new system, such as Tsushima ghost Y Final Fantasy VII Remake, the latter of which recently announced the Yuffie DLC coming to the PS5. To that end, MP1ST reports that the new PS4 firmware update adds certain features while removing another. The primary asset that the update implements is the ability for users to enable or disable notifications for individual groups in messages. Additionally, fans can now request to join a game session from session leaders, who can then invite players to their game. The update also gives players more anonymity when playing games they have hidden, as other players will no longer see what they are playing. Finally, the communities will no longer be available.

PlayStation consoles classified as PS4

Firmware updates are the silent reinforcements of technology. Phones, controllers, consoles, routers, and more all benefit from its application. The PS4, even though it is no longer the most advanced system available to Sony, is still a stellar piece of technological advancement and maintains a giant user base. Until Sony can mass produce the PS5 at a faster rate (after the world reopens), the previous generation console will likely remain the main system used by many fans.

Players are known to be outspoken, quick to point out every flaw (as well as praise every milestone). If Sony didn’t keep the PS4 up to date despite the PS5 launch in November 2020, the company would find out often. Fortunately, there is a chance that the locks will be lifted in the near future, and the tech conglomerate could find itself in a position to put the PS5 in the hands of more users and gradually leave the technology behind. PS4 behind, especially if the current generation system maintains its backward compatibility support for PS4 titles.
