The promised Eugenie and her lifelong boyfriend, Jack Brooksbank, are engaged.
The couple, who have been dating for about seven years, got engaged in Nicaragua earlier this month and will be married in the fall, Buckingham Palace said in a statement Monday.
The 27-year-old daughter Sarah "Fergie" Ferguson, the Duchess of York and Prince Andrew will walk down the aisle in the same place – St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle – as their cousin the Prince Harry, 33, and Meghan Markle, 36, on May 19, Buckingham Palace announced.
"The Duke and the Duchess of York are delighted to announce the commitment of Princess Eugenia to Mr. Jack Brooksbank," his parents said in a statement.
"The wedding will take place in the fall of 2018 at the George Chapel in Windsor, with more details to be announced in due time."
The couple met when Eugenie was still at Newcastle Univerity in the Swiss ski resort of Verbier after being introduced by friends and having been there on vacation.
"He's a really lovely guy," a friend of the family told Brooksbank last year, 31 people. "They love each other and they mean it."

"It's not the jet-setty type," says the friend, but they remained united through Skype. Fundamentally, "They have many lovely friends" who support them too, adds the friend.
Brooksbank is already a fixed element among the royal family. In addition to attending Pippa Middleton's wedding on May 20, she attended Royal Ascot in June, a tradition of the royal family.
"It was very important to go in. They seemed very happy," said royalty photographer Mark Stewart, adding that he feels comfortable in the company of Eugenie's parents, Fergie and Andrew: "It seems they have a lot sweetie ".
Despite some expectations that he could work in the financial district of London, Brooksbank headed in a different direction: the hospitality trade. After getting his feet wet in the pubs, he caught the eye of the London restaurateur Piers Adam, who asked him to join the team at the modern Markham Inn. He is also the manager of the nightclub Mahiki, which used to be popular with young royals, including the cousins of Eugenie, Prince William and Prince Harry.
The news comes after a series of good news for the royal family. Just before Harry marries Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton is expected to give birth in April. And Eugenie's cousin, Zara Tindall, 36, recently announced that she and her husband Mike are expecting their second child.
