Prince Harry's former girlfriend, Chelsy Davy, surfaced a few days after she announced her engagement to Meghan Markle.
The 32-year-old attended the Brilliant is Beautiful gala at Claridge's Hotel in London and was seen wearing a black dress. Prince Harry's aunt, Sarah Ferguson, was also present at the event.
According to People, Prince Harry and Davy met and started dating back to 2004. The two met in Cape Town during the sabbatical of royalty between attending Eton College and The Army. After meeting in South Africa, Prince Harry and Davy returned several times to the country.
In 2016, the daughter of a millionaire safari operator told The Sunday Times that it was difficult to deal with the media when she was dating Prince Harry. "I was so full of madness, fear and discomfort, I found it very difficult when I was bad, I could not cope, I was trying to be a normal kid and it was horrible," he said.
Prince Harry and Davy split up in 2010. At that time, she returned to her hometown in Zimbabwe to deal with her break in private. After recovering from their division, Prince Harry and Davy remained friends.
Meanwhile, Davy is Prince Harry's second ex-girlfriend to the surface after her engagement to Markle was announced. Cressida Bonas, who broke away from royalty in 2014, starred in the James Arthur music video for "Naked." He promoted the video on his social media account and shared behind the scenes photos of his recent project.
Like Davy, Bonas also thought there were some disadvantages to dating a prince. "I think it's about being typecast, especially in this country, I think people are very quick to put it in a box …" he said (via Entertainment Tonight).
There were also rumors suggesting that Bonas had problems with the public scrutiny he received especially when it came to how he looked, how he dressed and even how he acted.
