It revealed that Duke and Duchess of Sussex would join Trevor Noa, Sandra Oh, Kumail Nanjiani and John Legend to make a personal appearance on the television show.
It marks the first time TIME’s annual ranking of the 100 most influential people will be broadcast in a TV special.

TIME unveiled a handful of stars who will be honored in their coveted list in 2020 in a promotional video on E! News on Wednesday before the special airing on September 22
The promo video featured a picture of famous faces including tennis stars Serena Williams and Roger Federer, while the words ‘Leader’, ‘Artist’, ‘Icon’ and ‘Titans’ are seen on the screen.
It then teases that the show will feature performances by Sussex and other stars, while performing by Halsey, Jennifer Hudson and The Weeknd.
The switch to a TV unveiling comes as TIME is forced to ax its usual in-person events due to a coronovirus epidemic.
At last year’s event, honors including Taylor Swift and Nancy Pelosi gathered for a star-studded bash at the Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City.
Time Studio President Ian Orisep said that the 2020 broadcast event will bring an alternative and ‘new experience’ to the rankings.

TIME executive editor Dan McSai said the show would “recognize this year’s extravagance.”
TIME100 will air on Tuesday September 22 on ABC, announcing the names of the world’s 100 most influential people according to the magazine.
ABC promised that the show would be “full of entertainment for leaders, creators and everyday heroes, as well as its time print debut on the 2020 list.”
The list will also be published on the website of Time on 22 September and the full time 100 issue of the magazine will be available on 25 September.
