Police in South Korea are leading the country to the disappearance of millions of dollars of cash from a casino on a popular holiday island.
One of the largest resorts on Jiju Island, Jiju Shinhwa World, reported to police earlier this month that more than $ 14 billion had been won, with the equivalent of $ 13 million lost, where gamblers typically lurk and other Play high-stakes card games.
Hong Kong-based casino operator Lending International Development Limited has asked police to search for a female employee of Malaysia who was charged with cash, but did not return to work after going on leave in late December. In a filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Executive Director Wong Hoi Po said the landing was not able to reach the woman.
Shares in Lending International Development tumbled 7.6% on Monday before recovering to 4.7% on Tuesday.
South Korea’s paramilitary Yonhap news agency reported that police in Jiju have recovered security camera footage from the casino, but found that footage taken at the time of the suspected heir was erased.
