An air site visitors controller at Charlotte Douglas International Airport and one other man had been arrested after investigators mentioned they had been in possession of a weapon of mbad destruction.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – An air site visitors controller at Charlotte Douglas International Airport was one among two males arrested Friday after investigators alleged he was in possession of a weapon of mbad destruction.
According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, 30-year-old Paul George Dandan was charged with possession of a weapon of mbad destruction. He is at present being held within the Mecklenburg County Jail beneath a $45,000 bond. The FBI mentioned they’re helping Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police with their investigation and that they do not anticipate federal fees to be filed towards Dandan right now.

CMPD officers responded to a 911 name on November three in reference to an individual being in possession of a home made explosive system within the 300 block of Minitree Lane. CMPD bomb squad brokers confirmed that the thing in query was a home made pipe bomb.
Detectives realized that 39-year-old Derrick Fells construct the explosive system. He admitted to detectives that he made the bomb with a view to use it towards a neighbor. Investigators allege that Fells modified his thoughts and gave away the bomb to Dandan. According to CMPD, Charlotte Douglas Airport mentioned Dandan, who was an air site visitors controller, solely had entry to the offsite air site visitors management tower and couldn’t entry any restricted areas of the terminal or ramp.
The FAA confirmed to NBC Charlotte that Dandan’s entry to the airport was terminated following his arrest Friday afternoon. The FAA issued the next badertion after Dandan’s arrest:
The FAA has terminated the worker’s entry to the ability and is cooperating with legislation enforcement authorities.
On Friday, detectives obtained warrants towards each Fells and Dandan. Fells was charged with three counts of producing a weapon of mbad destruction and one depend of possession of a weapon of mbad destruction. Dandan was charged with possession of a weapon of mbad destruction, buying a weapon of mbad destruction and transporting a weapon of mbad destruction.
In March of 2015, Dandan was arrested and charged with badault on a feminine.
