Temperatures struggled today despite a lot of sun after some lingering morning clouds. Highs ended up within a few degrees of the 60s in most spots, which is a bit below normal for the date. A seasonably cool night is followed by another crisp day for Halloween.

Through Tonight: We’ve already seen wind gusts diminish a good deal this afternoon. Temperatures have a big range, as they tend to do on nights with light winds and clear skies during the cold season. We’re talking about 37 in the coldest spots to about 47 in the warmest parts of the city. Winds are light.

Tomorrow (Tuesday): It’s another somewhat cool but also quite delightful fall day. Those colors are really starting to pop locally, so enjoy them while you stroll! Skies are mostly sunny, and temperatures rise to highs in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Winds are from the northwest around 10 mph.

Trick-or-treat weather: There’s no precipitation anywhere close by to think about. In fact, clouds may be hard to find. Temperatures are falling through the 50s in the early evening and into the 40s for western suburbs by 8 p.m. Winds are light and turning lighter. Gusts around 10 to 15 mph early in the evening are relatively uncommon later. Just about ideal!
