Pioneer is partnering with JVC Kenwood to offer three models of in-dash receivers for their car that support CarPlay and Android Auto. Pioneer says the drives – the AVIC-W8400NEX, -W6400NEX and -W4400NEX – are the first in-dash receivers to support FLAC files without the need to convert, and are the first to connect wirelessly or via USB to both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as reported by Engadget .
The flagship AVIC-W8400NEX has a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen, while the AVIC-W6400NEX has a 6.2-inch capacitive touchscreen, and the AVH-W4400NEX has a 7-inch screen with resistive touch capabilities . The receivers are compatible with Google Assistant and Siri and can work wirelessly via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or connected through a Lightning connection. In addition, you can control your smart home devices through the units, including items such as a garage door, locks or lights.
The AVIC-W8400NEX costs $ 1,200, while the AVIC-W6400NEX costs $ 800 and the AVH-W4400NEX will cost you $ 700. All units are available to buy now.
