Pinellas to hire new coronavirus vaccine on Friday

The Foundation of Healthy St. Petersburg announced on Thursday that Pinellas County will open registration for the coronavirus vaccine on Friday after shipment of more than 10,000 doses to the state.

Appointments, for anyone 65 and older who can prove state residency, can be scheduled online at PatientPortalFL.com from 3pm on Monday at four unnamed sites operated by county paramedics and health department staff Will start

The slot is expected to go quickly. It takes 10,000 to one hour to open on 15 January.

To get an appointment, first create an account in the portal, then select the available time. But simply creating an account does not guarantee an appointment, the foundation said.

Although online registration is recommended, those without internet access or who need website help can call the 24-hour call center at 844-770-8548 to get guidance in English or Spanish.

Those who secure an appointment must show proof of Florida residency to receive the vaccine. This can be done with a driving license, deed or utility bill, for example. The foundation said seasonal residents would be asked to negotiate a part-time rental agreement.

Vaccination sites will be replaced with confirmation of appointment. People with appointments arrive at their scheduled time to stop going away.
