Pilot killed after small air accidents near Crozet

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. – Virginia state police said one person died when a small plane crashed in western Albemarle county near Crozet on Sunday night, WCAV reported.

The police officers said that the plane fell around 9 p.m. in private properties along Saddle Hollow Road near Crozet.

"The rescue teams are having difficulty accessing the site due to the terrain," wrote Lynne Vogt with WVIR.

Officials said that the pilot was the only person on board. 19659003] His body was transported to the coroner's office for autopsy and identification.

There has been no information about what caused the plane to fall.
