Miami will stay at home for the bowl season, and will meet Wisconsin at the Orange Bowl on December 30. The Hurricanes (10-2) will go to the Orange Bowl for the tenth time and play at Hard Rock Stadium, the Miami playing field. Wisconsin (12-1) comes from its first loss of the season, dropping 27-21 to Ohio State in the Big Ten championship game. That loss probably kept the Badgers out of the CFP field.
The Hurricanes and the Badgers have not played in eight years, and that was at the Champs Sports Bowl. Both have strong defenses, with Wisconsin ranking No. 1 nationally in yards allowed in second place in points allowed.
Ohio State Coach Urban Meyer recognizes the unilateral nature of Buckeyes' 55-24 defeat in Iowa overcame his team's quality victories to the eyes of the College Football tiebreaker selection committee.
Alabama beat Ohio State for the last place in the tiebreaker. Says Meyer: "In short, we had a tough road loss, in my opinion, a very good team, but a great defeat."

The Big 12 will have a great bowl bonanza, led by Oklahoma, which will go to the Rose Bowl as part of the college football heat.
The smallest of the 10 Division I conferences will have the highest percentage of bowl teams.
Eight of the top 10 teams of the Big 12 – or 80 percent – will go to a bowl game. Only Kansas and Baylor, both 1-11, could not qualify.
The league that can get closer to that is the Pac-12, with nine of its 12 teams, or 75 percent, reaching the six victories needed for the bowl. eligibility.
While ACC and Conference USA could have up to 10 of the 14 teams from each of those leagues in the bowls, that's only 71 percent.
There were only six Big 12 teams that went to the year bowl, but this will be the third time in the seven seasons since he moved to a league of 10 teams that at least eight will play in postseason games. In 2012, a record of nine Big 12 teams achieved it.

Washington moved to 11th place and that will be good enough for the Pac-12 to be a second team, along with the USC champion, in the six-ball New Year's game. It is likely that the Huskies go to the Cotton Bowl.
Alabama beat Ohio State to take fourth place in the playoffs. Alabama defeated only two teams in the top 25 of the committee: LSU at 17 and Mississippi State at 23. Alabama is also the first team to reach the tiebreaker after losing its last game.

While the world of college football discussed the decision of the committee On the fourth team in the tiebreaker, no one doubts the credentials of the two star programs that meet for the first time in the Granddaddy of Them All.

The inclusion of Clemson as the first seed since the Tigers (12-1) were No. 1 in the previous ranking of the CFP and then defeated Miami 38-3 in the game for the ACC title was expected. Saturday.
The inclusion of Alabama (11-1) was much more controversial. The fourth seed, Alabama, did not even win the Southeast West Conference after losing to Auburn in the final game of the regular season, but it was impressive until that loss.
Clemson beat Alabama 35-31 in the game for the national championship last season. The Tigers have returned to the CFP with a dominant defense and the appearance of junior quarterback Kelly Bryant.
Alabama is inside.
The crimson tide was cleared by Ohio State and will play Clemson in the Football College tiebreaker on January 1 at the Sugar Bowl. Oklahoma and Georgia will meet at the Rose Bowl on the same day.
Tide or Buckeyes was the question facing the selection committee, the toughest decision in the four-year history of the playoffs.
The Tide had been more consistent and they lost only once. The Buckeyes lost twice, including an embarrbading 31-point loss to an unclbadified Iowa, but they have the most impressive set of wins. Ohio State won the Big Ten while Alabama did not even win its division of the Southeast Conference.
The committee rolled with Tide, and for the first time the tie-break will include two teams from the same conference. Alabama joins the SEC Georgia champion and a SEC title game is possible.
