The results showed that 70 percent of the respondents reported experiencing iPad neck symptoms compared to just under 30 percent of the men. Women were also more likely (77 percent) to use their tablets while sitting on the floor than men (23 percent).
In addition, sitting without back support increased the chances of pain twice. Sitting with the device in the lap or sitting on a chair with the tablet on a flat desk surface also contributed to the pain.

Sitting in chairs with backrest and exercising to strengthen muscles are some steps that users could take to avoid pain due to the use of the iPad, according to the researchers.
