In 2019 Nintendo released Tetris 99 as a free battle royale game for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers before trying Super Mario Bros. 35 temporarily, and now you are following those games with Pac-Man 99.
Available exclusively on Switch for people with online subscription, the game allows players to eat Power Pellets to make them vulnerable to ghosts. Once eaten by players, the ghosts turn into a Pac-Man Jammer, chasing down opponents and slowing them down as the field slowly shrinks from 99 contestants to one winner.
The base game is available at no additional cost to subscribers, while the optional DLC adds CPU mode, time attack, and various custom themes, with some of the themes referencing classic Bandai games. Themes are available for $ 2 each, while players can purchase the additional modes in a $ 15 add-on, or simply get all the extras at once for $ 30.
Pac-Man 99 launches on Switch tomorrow, April 7 at 9 p.m. ET. Subscribers to Switch Online can pre-load it now by going to the Nintendo website so they are ready when the servers open.
