We make moderate comments. Our goal is to provide sufficient commentary for a general reader. By screening presentations, we provide a place where readers can share intelligent and informed comments that enhance the quality of our news and information.
While most comments will be posted, moderating decisions are subjective if they are not on topic and not derogatory. We will make them as carefully and consistently as we can. Due to the volume of reader comments, we cannot review individual moderation decisions with readers.
We value thoughtful comments representing a range of ideas that do their thing quickly and politely. We try to avoid repeated comments by discussions from the same reader or different readers
We follow the same standards for taste as a daily newspaper. Some of the things we will not tolerate are: personal attacks, obscenity, obscenity, profanity (after examples and characters after dashes), commercial promotion, impersonation, inconsistency, prosecution and SHOUTING. Do not include URLs in web sites.
We do not edit comments. They are either approved or removed. We reserve the right to edit a quoted or excerpted comment in an article. In this case, we can correct the spelling and punctuation.
We welcome strong opinions and criticism of our work, but we do not want comments to discuss our policies and we will work accordingly.
We appreciate when readers and people are quoted in articles or blog posts that it points to fact or error errors and will examine all assertions. But these suggestions should be sent via e-mail. To avoid distracting other readers, we will not publish comments that suggest improvements. Instead, the correction will be done in a blog post or an article.
