Over 400 Walt Disney Imagineers to be Laid Off

Sadly, layoffs affecting Disney parks, resorts and products are also coming to Walt Disney Imaginary.

according to this Orange County RegisterActivist Brady Macdonald, the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, revealed that 411 Imagineers are expected to be laid off from their campus in Glendale, California.

Earlier today, it was revealed that approximately 2,700 non-union cast members from the Disneyland Resort would begin December 4 with 6,700 from Walt Disney World, while 2,500 Union Food Service cast members and UNITE HERE Local 11 K will have 950 members. Let it go on 1 November.

Disney has struggled to overcome the economic outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic. Disneyland and Disney California Adventure closed with the rest of the Disneyland Resort back in March, and are yet to reopen. Yesterday, Disney Parks announced layoffs of 28,000 cast members. In a memo, Disney Parks, Resorts and Products President Josh D’Amro said: “Earlier this year, in response to the epidemic, we were forced to close our businesses around the world. Some of us Could have imagined how much the epidemic would affect us – at work and in our daily lives.
