As the battle for the best smartphone camera heats up, Oppo is bringing a new contender to the battlefield. A filtered invitation for an upcoming event highlights the number 10, which appears to be a 10x optical zoom indicator. The event is scheduled for January 16 in Beijing, China.
Back at the Mobile World Congress 2017, we watched closely the 5x hybrid optical zoom arrangement that Oppo showed in a prototype device. While that provision never worked its way into a production device, it seems that Oppo could be on the verge of achieving its own achievement!
We hope the camera hardware includes an improved version of Precision Optical Zoom technology.
We hope that the camera's hardware includes an improved version of the precision optical zoom technology that we first saw in 2017. Oppo is likely to use a periscope style design for camera badembly. The set uses a prism to bend the light by 90 degrees. The mounting of the camera on the side should give Oppo more than enough space to accommodate the longer focal length. With OIS at the end of the telephoto lens, it should be possible to obtain stable shots even with the image fully enlarged.
MySmartPrice It suggests that the first phones to integrate technology will be the Oppo F19 and the F19 Pro. There are other suggestions that the two phones might have a perforated screen. Additional specifications include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor. We hope to hear much more about this in the coming days with the launch event just around the corner.
Personally, I would prefer to have a wide-angle lens that allows me to capture much more of the scene than the high optical zoom. What are your thoughts? Inform us in the comments section.
