DELAWARE COUNTY, Ohio (WCMH) – The Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested a 16-year-old Olentangy Orange High School student after a video showing someone beating a 15-year-old student appeared.

The student faces a charge of criminal aggression, according to the researchers.

The video shows a much larger student repeatedly hitting a smaller student, probably over a Juul, a nicotine pen. The oldest teenager was arrested on Monday.

Because the two involved are minor, NBC4 is not releasing their names.

The video went viral and began to circulate on social networks from Facebook to Nextdoor.

The local Olentangy schools issued the following statement on Monday:

The district leadership and the local police are conducting a thorough investigation of this incident. The safety and security of all our students is of the utmost importance and violence of any nature is not tolerated. We will continue to be vigilant to provide a safe environment for all students, and those involved in this incident will be responsible for their actions.
