Ohio officer shot and killed in response to the disturbance call

DETROIT – An Ohio police officer was shot to death while answering a call overnight, authorities said.

The officer was met with gunshots after arriving at a Home Depot parking lot in Toledo, the media reported. Fire Chief Brian Byrd said the officer was Anthony Dia in a transmission to the emergency radio network, according to the media.

Witnesses told reporters that they called police after a suspect arrived in the area and caused riots, and the suspect then shot the officer.
