Officials report 172 new COVID-19 cases, 6 new virus-related deaths.

Mayor San Antonio of San Antonio and Nelson Wolfe, Judge of Bexer County, updated the community about the local response to COVID-19 in their daily briefing on Tuesday night.

As of Tuesday, in an increase of 172 new cases, Nirenberg reported 59,902 total COVID-19 cases and 1,207 deaths in Bexer County. Today there are six new deaths.

The 7-day moving average of cases is 138.

City officials also reported that 190 patients are hospitalized, 78 are in intensive care unit and 39 are on ventilator. 14% of staffed beds are available and 71% of ventilators are available.

Wolff said officials would make an announcement regarding the reopening of the bar on Wednesday. He said he is awaiting the health information he requested from Metro Health and made recommendations to the Community Resources Committee.

Metro Health will release an epidemiological report on the city’s COVID-19 website sometime this week. Some takeaways presented by Nirenberg are given below:
