A policeman from Adams County, Colorado, who was shot in Thornton on Wednesday night, was reportedly killed and reported to have been pursued by up to two suspects.
A suspect was in custody, Denver7 News reported, citing a source for law enforcement.
"Officer down, avoid the area of 88 th and Dawston Street," he tweeted the Adams County Sheriff's Office. "Large perimeter with suspect still at large".
The tweet advised residents of the area "to seek shelter away from doors and windows."
