Odell Beckham Jr. was clearly taken aback when learning he had been traded from the New York Giants to Cleveland Browns, vanishing from the public eye for several days to "process" the new beginning.
Since then, Beckham has said very little about the Giants, instead choosing to focus solely on his rebirth in Cleveland alongside his good friends, Jarvis Landry and Baker Mayfield.
But while Beckham has said his goodbyes, another close friend of his, Denver Broncos edge rusher Von Miller, says the superstar receiver was deeply hurt by the trade.
"He was hurt," Miller said during an appearance on NFL Network. "He was hurt initially. I loved New York, I loved his teammates, I loved the team. Whenever you get hit with something like that you're going to be hurt. You're going to feel some type of disappointment with that. But immediately after that I was excited for his new opportunity. You saw his new teammates on Twitter and Instagram, they love him as well. The whole city of Cleveland is excited. He's the new LeBron there, so he's excited about that. He's going to be ready to go. "
Beckham's pain in contradictory to what many believed, perhaps sparked by Beckham himself. After all, it was only a year ago when he had appeared on ESPN and in an exclusive interview with Josina Anderson, seemed to imply wanted out of New York.
Whatever the case may be, Beckham appears to be on solid ground now. His time in New York is over and things are just beginning in Cleveland.
